On Eva's Wrists....

photos via Eva Geraldine Fontanelli Instagram

One of the best surprises of last year was seeing fashion editor and stylist at Elle Italia Eva Geraldine Fontanelli wearing her bespoke Morse Code & Chakra bracelets by ESOTIC jewellery and posting her choices on her Instagram account ; I was especially touched by her pic taken while at Hermes and her sister wedding.

The Cheapside Hoard

A few weeks ago I went to the Museum Of London to see The Cheapside Hoard exhibition.
My mind was blown away and my eyes were almost hurting by so much beauty.
 I was left speechless.
The exhibition covered over 500 pieces of Tudor and early Stuart jewellery (late 16th and early 17th century) which was buried deep underground in London's Cheapside for more than 300 years in the cellar of a jeweller's workshop.
The Cheapside Hoard is the most well preserved in the world; I couldn't believe that such detailed work was handmade so long ago...
The Lost Hoard spills over with  torrents of loose gemstones, faceted, rough or polished into the glossy cabochons favourite in late-Renaissance jewellery. I saw precious emeralds ( the only picture I've dared to snap), rubies, sapphires, amethysts, garnets, agates and unusual brown-mottled "toadstones" which were really fossilised fish teeth ( and here I was totally taken aback).
I don't really have a favourite piece but a certain enamelled gold ring set with a large table-cut diamond would look great nowadays on my finger.
As a jeweller I often find it hard to display my work; this exhibition is definitely the best way, with dark rooms, glass cabinets full of light to illuminate the fine multiple chains, rings, ear rings, cameos, brooches and watches...
I was probably one of the youngest people in the room, surrounded by mature jewellers of Hatton Garden style, who were talking of methods, values, techniques, stones and designs; while I was admiring a gold pin with blister pearl in the form of a ship with fine gold wire mast and rigging, one very fine gentlemen said : " Oh gosh such a beauty, I bet you are dreaming to wear something like that" my instinctive answer was rather: " I wish I could make something like that".

Cuzco via Miss Vogue Paris

Photos by Claudia Knoepfel &Stefan Indlekofer
Styling by Veronique Didry for Miss Vogue Paris April 2013
I've found this fashion photo shoot from Miss Vogue Paris and loved the styling by Veronique Didry.
It is perfect for these autumn days when you need knit wear, layers, hats, big chunky tribal jewellery and all those beautiful handmade ethnic craft accessories .
Worn with denim.
Ticks all the boxes for me.
I'm now on my next DIY project: I need a felt hat, a ribbon and as many as possible Peruvian lucky mini dolls

Sarah Jane Clarke, a dream home

via Tales Of Endearment

I always like to spend time on interiors, lifestyle blogs and websites, especially if they are of very interesting and stylish people; so checking Tales of Endearment Muse page is a recurrent habit.
The Australian Sass&Bide duo designers is one of my favourite, I love all their collections and personal styles.
A while ago I've posted the pictures of Heidi Middleton's beautiful house (always via Tales of Endearment); no surprise then if you find here the long awaited photos of the other half of the designers duo, Sarah Jane Clarke, of whom style I'm a huge fan, especially since a "Tiny Bird" told me that a while ago SJC passed by their boutique in Noosa Head and..... bought one of my MorseCode  bracelets. Pinch Me Now! I still not believe it, proud face...

Neoprene swimwear

I'm absolutely in love with these neoprene swimwear by Lisa Marie Fernandez, no one does sexy sport wear as she does. the capsule collection created in collaboration with Peter Pilotto is to dream for and surely aimed to make you feel like a modern mermaid .
Now let's take out those slick surfing board, snorkel and fins and let's go to the sea...oh wait... may have to do some proper work out as I can only dream of a body a la Elisa Sadnoui....
