Got 'til It's Gone

Janet featuring Joni Mitchell & Q-Tip

I woke up this morning with this song in my head and really don't know why.
I grew up listening to Joni Mitchell thanks to my dad's great taste in music,
but when in 1997 Janet Jackson came out with this version feat Joni and Q-Tip I was blown away.
Mainly I was in love with the video by director Mark Romanek.
I watched it over and over and over again.
It makes you feel as if you are at a party in the '60s in Mali and both Malick Sidibe' and Seydou Keita are there taking pictures. Fantastic !
and a beautiful young Alek Wek comes along !

wayuu tribeswomen's bags

I love these Mochila bags which are made by Wayuu Tribeswomen, an indigenous people who live near the borders of both Colombia and Venezuela. Each bag is incredibly labor intensive to make and can take over 40 hours to make each one! You can check out and purchase original Wayuu Taya bags here where the proceeds from the sale of these bags goes back to the Wayuu people.
